The SHAPE project, co-financed by the European Commission, through an innovative analysis, creation and evaluation of archives and a multidisciplinary academic research on industrial relations and social dialogue, will deepen the foundations of social Europe with the aim of understanding what roles social partners should play to face current challenges, in particular the green, digital and demographic transitions. During the project, experts will produce academic analyses and practice-oriented reports, as well as proposals for updating the EU Treaties.

The Role of the EU in Worker Representation

A high-level meeting dedicated to the theme “The role of the European Union in shaping worker representation to meet new challenges and strengthen social dialogue.” The event presents the main conclusions of the Academic and Social Partners Expert Group (ASPE Group) within the SHAPE project.
During the meeting, the following will be presented:
- The final report on the evolving role of social partners in addressing present and future challenges in the world of work.
- The preliminary proposals for revisions to the EU Treaties, which will be submitted for stakeholder consultation.
The event, hosted by the Maison Jean Monnet in collaboration with the European Parliament, brings together high-level representatives of European and national social partner organisations. It offers an opportunity to discuss the tools, priorities, and perspectives needed to strengthen worker representation and consolidate social dialogue in the European Union.
Through this exchange, we aim to contribute to the development of effective, inclusive, and forward-looking social policies capable of supporting a stronger and fairer Europe.
